Well! It's been way too long. Last weekend - was my birthday giftie to myself - a scrapbook retreat out in the mountains. I had a ball! And I even got some scrapping done! I'll share some here. This page was a challenge set by the organisers. We were given a sketch, a kit and a time limit. The sketch wasn't my style of scrapping, but I was quite happy that I completed the task, and that I liked the finished page! We were also allowed to add in items from our own stash, which was good. Because I did!

Epiphany in August?

Well.... that's it. I've had a lightbulb moment, and epiphany, if you will.... with all these wonderful inspirational blogs I'm finding, I'm getting myself in a tangle. What is my epiphany you say?
I'm going to open another blog/page, for my scrapbooking stuff. So, This one will be my cards, and I'll pop my scrappin gear on the next page. Oh blow. Where do I put my jewellery? I guess I'll tinker that on whatever page I'm on at the time! It probably won't happen today, coz hubby is trying to boot me off the computer.....bully!
Happy days everyone!

DDC#23 Gift of Giving

Taking part in another challenge - this time a gift card holder, something I haven't made before. I used a Kaiser heavyweight paper from the Wish Upon range. I chalk inked the paper edges, added lace, and vintage flowers. I also stitched on all the pearl beads .... they continue all up the back too. I added a ribbon tie for closure and an irridescent butterfly.
I'll make these again... I enjoyed making something other than a card. The instructions are on the Double Dutch Challenge site - click on the logo link on the left to get there! It's challenge #23...
I so wanted to scrap this busy photo - Becky won on a lucky ticket, choosing a big white tiger as her prize. She carried it all day! But how to scrap it? Cropping would take it's atmosphere. I don't usually do busy photos, or matt on a pattern, but decided that a busy paper matt would work for this. Not my usual choice at all. But if the paper and photo were busy, the page wouldn't need much else, so I thought. I was quite happy with the finished page. It's a memory of a great day at our Agricultural Show!

1, 2, 3, 4.... Hi 5!

At a recent scrap retreat, my challenge was to use from only one sheet each of paper and cardstock, and minimal embellishment. I think I am mostly a minimalist scrapper - I don't use a lot of embellishment per page, rather I use more decorative paper. In any case, I used a sheet of bazzill, part of a sheet of a retro paper, sticker/tags, and thread. The title is hand stitched directly onto the cardstock. I might add that it's the best my handwriting has ever looked!

It's so nice to SEE you!

Eeeek! I've never shared a scrappin layout on my blog! It is probably because I haven't managed to scan & stitch a 12x12 with the connected scanner - it's lid is hinged on the long side, and I prefer my other scanner, hinged on the short side, & easier to scan/stitch.... oh well.... I'll just have to camera snap my layouts!
This is our little faerie poppet, snapped a few years ago with my husband's glasses, but only scrapped yesterday.
I fall in love with so many papers, I hate to cut them and make scraps, so I tend to make simpler layouts that show more of the paper - although I would like to be a little more creative with paints, and tearing, and layers etc in my pages! So.... I've simply added ribbon strips, paper strips the groovy HOTP brad flower, and the premade title. The paper is from a DCWV collection pad.
I guess I should share some more pages!

Vintage Roses

I've had these printed card blanks for a while, and have kept meaning to use them. I finally did! I made a 'batch' of these cards with various vintage 3d roses on them. Now I'm desperate for adhesive pearl strips! I don't fancy adding the wee pearls one by one..... although I am known for sewing them on labouriously.....
But they were popular at todays market stall... out of a dozen, I have only one left! I love good market days - and today was great - but it means more work this month to get my stock up again! Happy Days!
